If you ever have had a moment where you were unsure whether to go for it or not, by all means go all in. Jonathan went all in when he saw his now fiance across the room at a random social function. He had no idea what to say or if he measured up, but that did not stop him from mustering up the courage to talk to her. If you’ve ever seen the movie “Sleepless in Seattle”, then you will most likely agree that it’s one of the best romantic classics of the last century. It wasn’t until recently when I heard Diego and Kathy’s story, that it gave “Sleepless in Seattle” a run for it’s money on my top 3 list.  How many of you guys out there would have moved across the nation for someone you just met? Diego did and fast forward a few years, they are now engaged and moving forward to the magnificent next chapter of their lives. If you ever look up the definition of fate, you might just find Kevin and Amy’s name mentioned somewhere. I am always left in awe when couples tell me their story of how they first met. In Amy and Kevin’s scenario, it was no different. These two knew each other since childhood and actually dated a long time ago before going their separate ways. Through life’s many winding paths, they somehow reconnected and found each other again in NYC where they started seeing each other again. It just goes to show how love works in mysterious ways and I could not be more happy for these two. They had so much synergy and a deep connection with one another during our photo session. Their story just confirms to me how bright their future is going to be together. Congratulations Kevin and Amy! I’m looking forward to hearing all the wonderful stories during the next chapter of your lives.

The sky looked as if it was freshly painted with vivid hues of blue and purple. There were romantic candles lit and laid out at a predetermined location. There was a nice breeze in the air and yes – I would say this was a perfect setting for what was about to transpire. A scenic stroll along the beach, a dinner date at a beautiful restaurant, a nostalgic location where they had one of their first dates. Khushboo would never have imagined that the night would end with all her closest friends and family in attendance, with everyone celebrating what I would like to imagine as the best day of her life to date. From the very beginning, Sean knew exactly how, when and where he wanted to propose to Lydia. Now that level of detail may not be for everyone, but when you come across someone who puts in that much effort, there’s something to be said of his tenacity and drive to make it the most amazing moment for both of them to share. The plan was to sing and play a song that truly summed up his emotions for her. It was to be on top of a rooftop with incandescent string lights setting a romantic mood and with the Empire State Building as the perfect backdrop. I had already expected the moment to be emotional and heartfelt, but witnessing it first hand took my breath away. I had to hold back a few tears and was truly honored to capture this special moment in their lives. Congratulations Sean and Lydia, what a way to begin the next chapter of  your lives! I’m going to leave you with a few lines from the song Sean sang that basically sums up this man’s character and unyielding love:

“I’m so in love with you, I hope you know.
Darling your love is more than worth its weight in gold.
We’ve come so far my dear, look how we’ve grown.
And I want to stay with you, until we’re grey and old.”

There are moments to a wedding where it feels like it’s lasted forever. There are also moments where it feels like it just ended in a flash. Weddings are jam packed with schedule, numerous events and as many know, can be very exhausting. There is family flying in from all over, friends you haven’t seen in a long time and many hired vendors trying to execute the perfect day.  In the center of this whirlwind is a bride and groom who are just trying to navigate their way through it all.

Chandler and Rachel navigated their day in such a manner it seemed effortless and as united as any two people could be. They handled all the nerves, the unexpected, the family and friends, the weather, as if they were all simple chores to be checked off a daily to-do list. I had a great honor and pleasure of capturing their story. They had a beautiful synergetic energy and flow that you could only feel if you were present. Danny’s original proposal plan had to be tweaked when his girlfriend suggested a spur-of-the-moment trip to NYC for a small vacation get-a-way.  There was a special meaning to the date he had in mind, so Danny did not want to re-schedule if possible. With less than a month to go, I was in awe how he was able to overcome obstacle over obstacle and deliver a heart gripping proposal.  With some good luck with the weather and some savvy improvisation skills by Danny, the proposal just all came together at the last moment. St. Patrick’s Cathedral has always held a special meaning in Derrick and Stephanie’s lives, and Derrick knew this was exactly where he wanted to propose to his soon-to-be fiance. During an anniversary weekend getaway in NYC, Stephanie was completely stunned and speechless when Derrick dropped down on one knee. Derrick put together a complete weekend itinerary in celebration of their anniversary, and topped it off with a beyond amazing cherry on top. When the magic hour came around, I saw a perfectly executed and beautiful story unfold behind my lens.

If anyone ever said chivalry in today’s modern world has disappeared, I’d beg to differ – just look at Derrick! Every bit of planning and effort these men go through is a constant reminder to myself that love and romance still exist. Congratulations to Derrick and Stephanie and here’s to the amazing next chapter of their lives!

There is something truly special about a surprise proposal and it is one of my favorite moments in a couple’s journey. The humility and subservient attitude of him, the sheer excitement of her…the emotions are priceless and there is nothing that can ruin that single moment.

Peter approached me about doing a destination surprise proposal in NYC during the holiday season. We game planned finding the perfect location that met his criteria. Throughout the whole process Peter was calm and had a clear vision of when and how he wanted to execute his proposal. Once we decided on the perfect venue, everything else just fell into place.

Congrats to Peter and Camille on their beautiful engagement. Peter’s proposal had all the magic and sparkle of the grandest of fairy tales. I could not be any more excited for the next chapter of your lives!

I always find myself in awe whenever I see the thoughtful and endless expressions of love. When Tessa approached Sam about taking an epic trip across the United States – 9,000 miles away from home – she never imagined she would be ending her vacation happily engaged to her best friend. It was a well executed surprise proposal by Sam, and I am truly honored to have had the opportunity to capture this precious memory for them. One of my favorite moments was when Tessa was telling the story of how she was completely taken by surprise, especially since the trip was originally her idea and she had packed all the bags (Way to go Sam!)
